SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) parted ways with Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. The news came as a shock for many as Rashid was an integral part of the franchise and many though Rashid will be among those to be retained by the team. The spic wizard was eventually drafted in by IPL debutants Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the mega auction. Rashid managed to hog all the limelight once again as GT and SRH faced off in match 21 of the ongoing season. During the match, SRH spin-bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan was asked about the franchise's decision to not retain Rashid.
Rashid Khan has been steady without being extraordinary like previous years and the reason for that is the safety first approach by opposition batters during this edition of IPL, feels Gujarat Titans spinner. Rashid has taken six wickets from four matches at an economy rate of 6.68 but batters across teams have negotiated the Afghan great pretty well. But the 23-year-old, who is among the most sought-after leg-spinners in franchise cricket around the world, is not surprised and says it's just a matter of time.

Indian Premier League (IPL) season so far. The big guns are yet to register a point. New entrants are setting the early pace. But all concerned know that it’s a very long tournament and the ability to sustain momentum is what matters at the business end of the competition. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) would’ve heaved a huge sigh of relief after their convincing eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday; and with the monkey of the first win off their back, they would now aim to be consistent like pace-setters Gujarat Titans (GT), whom they play at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Monday. After a poor start against Rajasthan Royals, the Sunrisers attack pulled things back against Lucknow Super Giants, especially Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Washington Sundar and T Natarajan, only to see their batsmen fall short by 12 runs; and the SRH camp would be happy with the gradual improvement that led to a collective performance against CSK.
PCB chairman Ramiz Raja to be placed on the table. Raja, who has prepared a white paper for an annual four-nation meet (T20/ODI) involving Pakistan, India, Australia and England, to be held under the aegis of ICC, believes that revenue to the tune of USD 750 million could be raked in by the parent body and distributed among its members.
Hardik Pandya on Friday said bowling a full quota of four overs in the IPL is tiring but insisted he is getting better with each passing game. Pandya has struggled to manage his bowling workload post his back surgery in 2019.
Rahul Tewatia's two sixes off the last two balls of the run-chase against Punjab Kings handed a six-wicket win to Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League on Friday.
