With the Mumbai Indians' campaign almost done and dusted in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, there's little motivation for players to continue giving their best.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, etc. are all established stars but haven't been able to lift the Mumbai Indians' campaign this season.

As there remains the threat of their performances going down further, with MI unlikely to qualify for playoffs, former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta feels there's still 'pride' to play for.

Urging Rohit to not take his foot off the gas, Dasgupta urged the veteran opening batter to think of the forthcoming assignments and end the IPL campaign on a high. "You are playing for the pride of the team, you are playing as a professional cricketer and you are playing for your pride as well.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) nearing its conclusion, Indian cricketers are set to shift gears and start preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024. With Rohit Sharma leading the side, the Indian team would hope to go all the way in the marquee event, unlike the ODI World Cup last year where a defeat in the final against Australia ended the big dream. While Team India has the star power in all departments of the game, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has urged the team to play as unit, putting 'we' in front of 'I'.
There have been rumours of a possible rift between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya ever since the latter was appointed captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of IPL 2024. Hardik had replaced Rohit as MI captain after rejoining the franchise from Gujarat Titans (GT) during the trade window. However, it is safe to say that the move has backfired as MI are already out of the IPL 2024 playoffs contention. Also, Hardik's performance this season has been mediocre to say the least.
