Woman hit by car in town centre - live updates

A woman has been hit by a car in a Welsh town centre. There are severe delays around Cwmbran on Thursday after an incident involving a 64-year-old woman.

Gwent Police have shut Edlogan Way, Cwmbran between Morrisons Roundabout and Woodland Road. It is expected to remain closed for some time, and there is congestion around the town.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on Edlogan Way, Cwmbran at around 11.55am on Thursday 30 October.

"The collision involved a car and a pedestrian, and a 64-year-old woman has been taken to hospital for treatment."
