Irked Todd Cantwell has been told he was wrong to hit out at VAR on social media following the clash with Livingston. The Scottish Premiership showdown was packed full with talking points with the video technology taking centre stage as goals from Cyriel Dessers and James Tavernier's second-half penalty - awarded to Rangers after VAR spotted a handball by Mikey Devlin - gave Philippe Clement's men the three points in West Lothian.
But substitute Cantwell was left raging following a tackle from Livi star James Penrice. The Light Blues' playmaker was booked by referee Steven McLean for his on-field response to the challenge - and the Englishman continued to rage on social media following the full-time whistle claiming the incident "didn't get checked" by the VAR room.
He shared a close up of the challenge and added: "For context I got booked here not even looked at." Cantwell's claim that the incident had not been checked were echoed on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard by a caller, but host Gordon Duncan - who represented Sky Sports at the clash - was not convinced.
He insisted the flashpoint would have been examined by the VAR team stating: "Just for accuracy, because we hear that a lot - I was talking to someone about a completely different incident - VAR looks at pretty much everything.
