Watch: Team India's "Fun Day Out" In Australia Ahead Of T20 World Cup

In less than two weeks, things will begin to get really serious for the top cricket teams. The 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia is around the corner and the sides have started reaching Down Under for the marquee events.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team was one of the first sides to reach Australia. They have also played a warm-up game against Western Australia and are scheduled to play another against the same opponents on Thursday.

Ahead of the second warm-up match, the side took some time out from their busy schedule and unwinded with a visit to the Rottnest Island.

Team India had a promising day as they defeated Australia by six runs in the warm-up match of the ongoing T20 World Cup on Monday. After posting a total of 186/7 in 20.0 overs, with KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav hitting half-centuries, the Rohit Sharma-led side bundled out Australia at 180, with Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, taking three and two wickets, respectively. Apart from all these triumphs, one thing which caught everyone's attention was Virat Kohli's brilliant throw, which ended up dismissing Tim David.
Australia and India finished off their T20 World Cup preparations in a warm-up match at an empty Gabba ground in Brisbane, won by India by six runs in a contest that lacked much intensity until the frantic final stages. Australia looked set to win when Aaron Finch was chasing India’s 186-7, needing 16 runs required from 12 balls. But the captain’s dismissal for 76 presaged a passage of play that saw Australian wickets fall from each of the final four balls of the match, Australia finishing all out for 180.

Team India will play two warm-up game at the Gabba in Brisbane, against Australia and New Zealand, respectively. The Board of Control for Cricket in India took to Twitter and posted a video of the Indian team's journey to Brisbane. In the video, the players can be seen greeting fans and giving autographs. "Touchdown Brisbane," the BCCI captioned the video on Twitter.
