India batter Shubman Gill caught everyone's attention with a half-century in his County Championship debut match for Glamorgan against Worcestershire in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Wednesday.

Gill brought up his fifty in 87 balls and gave his side a strong start. But unfortunately, the batter had a disappointing end as he was dismissed at 92.

In the 67th over, which was bowled by Ed Barnard, Gill was LBW out and shown the way to the pavilion. His dismissal came as a big shock for all the viewers, as everyone was eagerly waiting for a ton.

Young Indian batter Shubman Gill slammed his maiden hundred for Glamorgan against Sussex in their County Championship Division 2 match in Hove on Tuesday. Batting on 91 overnight, Gill notched his eighth first-class century in 123 balls, displaying his wide array of elegant shots all around the County Ground in Hove. Overall Gill smashed 16 boundaries and two sixes in his knock of 119 off 139 balls before being dismissed by off-spinner Jack Carson when he holed out to Sean Hunt.
Both the 23-year-old’s two sixes – a ramp shot over slips off Pakistan pacer Faheem Ashraf, and a superb pickup shot off pacer Bradley Currie over mid-wicket -were classy shots. Playing for Glamorgan, Gill smashed an unbeaten 91 off 102 balls, on Day 1 of the clash against Sussex. Apart from his knock, another thing which caught everyone's attention was the perfect shot selection by the Indian batter, which is now going viral on social media.
The title was Surrey's first since 2018 and also the county's first under head coach Gareth Batty. England batsman Ollie Pope scored 136 off 131 deliveries on the opening day with Surrey setting a first innings total of 333.
LONDON : Surrey won the County Championship for the 21st time and with a game to spare after beating Yorkshire by 10 wickets at The Oval on Thursday.
