India defeated England by five wickets in the fourth Test and gained an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series. Chasing 192 on Day 4, India lost five wickets with 120 runs on the board.

However, Shubman Gill (52*) and Dhruv Jurel (39*) struck an important 84-run partnership and took the hosts across the line.

The victory marked India's 17th consecutive Test series win at home while it was England's first series loss in the tenure of their head coach Brendon McCullum.

After the win, a very heartfelt moment got captured as India head coach Rahul Dravid did not shy away from displaying his emotions and joyously celebrated the team's victory.

During the crucial Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester City on Sunday, Kuldeep posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) - "I love this high-line...Not afraid of anything #LIVMCI". Ashwin was quick to reply on the post with a funny jibe as he wrote - "Dey football manager".
Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid namedropped former teammate VVS Laxman while explaining the decision to include Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI instead of an all-rounder option after Ravindra Jadeja's injury in the first Test match against England. With Jadeja out for the second Test, the team management could have gone for Washington Sundar but instead, they decided to include a specialist spinner in Kuldeep. Dravid said that when he saw Axar batting at No. 6, it reminded him of the time when Laxman batted at that position but added that teams win matches by taking all 20 wickets.
The India vs England Test series was entertaining on all aspects. While the five-match contest offered some gritty knocks and promising spells, it also saw a world record being registered in terms of sixes. India and England together hit a total of 102 sixes, which is the most in any Test series. Rohit Sharma and Co. hit 72 of them while guests England smashed the remaining 30. Out of the ones India hit, Yashasvi Jaiswal individually accounted for 29 sixes. He also went on to break Rohit's world record of hitting most sixes in a Test series.
Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid suggested that the domestic cricket scheduling should go through an 'all-round review' after players like Shardul Thakur and R Sai Kishore expressed their concerns. Shardul said that players need more breaks between the matches in order to avoid injury and his sentiments were echoed by Sai Kishore. Following India's win over England in the fifth Test match in Dharamsala, Dravid was asked about the concerns and he said that the BCCI should consult the players who are "going through the grind and putting their bodies on the line."
