West Indies went down fighting against Australia in the first T20I of the two-match series at the Carrara Oval in Queensland.

After being put into bat, West Indies struggled to stitch any valuable partnership and were restricted to 145 for nine in 20 overs.

Opener Kyle Mayers top-scored for the visitors with a 36-ball 39, hitting four fours and a six during his stay in the middle.

Mayers grabbed eyeballs with a scintillating 105-metre six off Cameron Green's delivery in the fourth over of West Indies' innings.

Canberra on Friday. Needing 130 to win from 12 overs, Australia were 30-3 from 3.5 overs when rain forced the players from the field for the third and final time. England captain Jos Buttler said his team was building up well to the T20 World Cup, after winning the three-match series 2-0. "We made some good strides in Pakistan and we came here (Australia) and continued that form," Buttler said. It was a disappointing end to the match, the last official game for both teams before the World Cup, which starts on October 22. After being sent in by Australian captain Aaron Finch, Buttler smashed 65 from only 41 balls as England reached 112-2 in their 12 overs. Australia, already 2-0 down in the three-match series, then needed 130 to win based on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Australia and England are currently squaring off in the third and final T20I in Manuka Oval, which is a dress rehearsal for the upcoming T20 World Cup Down Under. England lead the series 2-0, and were put into bat by Australia. However, it didn't exactly go as planned for the visitors as in-form opening batter Alex Hales wad dismissed on a duck by Josh Hazlewood in the second over. Hazlewood got one to move away from Hales, who got a thick outside edge, resulting in a simple catch at slip.
