Virat Kohli's old video of 5 designated Test centres resurfaced on social media as the second Test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur witnessed lack of action due to a damp outfield, especially on Day 3.

Despite the venue not witnessing any rain on Sunday, not a single over could be possible because of the soft outfield. As frustrations grew among players and fans, Kohli's old video highlighting how India should only have 5 world-class venues for Test matches went viral.

Even former India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik spoke about the topic after the end of Day 3. Maturity is realising that Virat Kohli was correct in 2019 when he wanted India to only have 5 World Class Test Centres.

pic.twitter.com/kv62cLWhrc Karthik, sharing his opinion on the topic, suggested that Test cricket has more fan following in smaller towns than Tier 1 cities. "What happens when you nominate five centres in a place like India in Tier 1 cities, it is a fact that there has been a dwindling amount of interest in the Test format.

The duo milked 113 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket in just 22 overs. The sight of Rishabh Pant walking out to bat with Sarfaraz too might have calmed a lot of nerves in the Indian dressing room after the former missed the third day's play due to a blow he copped on his knee on the second day while ‘keeping.
Team India had to shuffle the batting order a bit after Shubman Gill missed out on the first Test against New Zealand. In Gill's absence Virat Kohli was promoted to the No. 3 spot while Sarfaraz Khan batted at No. 4. Both batters incurred ducks, prompted many to question the decision taken by the head coach Gautam Gambhir and skipper Rohit Sharma. As India's tactical decisions in the first innings backfired, former wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik raised some tough questions over the calls taken by the team management, especially the head coach Gambhir.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, the torchbearers of transition, will have to be India's driving force in their quest to lord over an unsettled New Zealand in a three-Test series, beginning here with the first match here on Wednesday.  The baton has not been completely passed, but Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are certainly running their last lap and these two young superstars will have to show that they can carry forward the legacy of the titans.
