Thomas Frank breaks silence on Christian Eriksen rejecting Brentford for Manchester United

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted it will be “impossible” to replace Christian Eriksen’s quality after the midfielder opted to join Manchester United last month.

The Dane became a free agent this summer after his short-term contract with the Bees expired. He made an astonishing return with the Premier League club in January, scoring once and assisting four goals in 11 league outings less than a year after his on-field cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

Brentford had offered him a new contract when his deal expired but Eriksen decided to move to United on a three-year deal instead.

He’s already got off the mark too, netting on his debut in last week’s 4-1 behind-closed-doors win over Wrexham.
