Arsenal ‘admire’ Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane but are facing a tough task as they look to tempt the reigning Bundesliga champions into sanctioning a move to the Emirates Stadium, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs. The Gunners may have missed out on Champions League qualification by two points last season, but that has not stopped boss Mikel Arteta in his tracks during the transfer window.
According to German newspaper Bild, via Spanish sources, Arsenal are one of several clubs chasing Sane ahead of the September 1 deadline.
The report suggests the Gunners will have to spend big if they want to secure the 45-cap Germany international’s services as Bayern have set a £58.6million valuation.
Meeting that figure would result in Sane becoming the second most expensive signing in Arsenal’s entire history. While Fabrizio Romano has previously told GIVEMESPORT that he is expecting the 26-year-old to remain in Bavaria, the transfer guru has not ruled out the possibility of a move in the final weeks of the window.
