American rock band The National have announced plans to headline a huge show at Castlefield Bowl next summer as part of Sound of the City 2024.
Formed in New York in 1999, the band have the top achievement of having their last five albums all chart in the top five of the UK album charts.
Earlier this year, the band released two critically-acclaimed albums, First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track. Fresh from a UK tour which included two sold out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace, The National have now unveiled details of their Manchester gig in July 2024 - with tickets on sale this Friday. Other artists fronting their own shows during the city music festival include Fatboy Slim, Tom Grennan, Jungle and a co-headlining gig from the Manic Street Preachers and Suede.
