Swiatek puzzled by service letdown in US Open defeat

NEW YORK : Iga Swiatek said she was unable to find a solution to issues that plagued her serve on Wednesday as the world number one lost 6-2 6-4 to Jessica Pegula in the U.S.

NEW YORK : Jessica Pegula ousted top seed Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals to continue the rich vein of American success at the U.S. Open on Wednesday while men's world number one Jannik Sinner beat Daniil Medvedev to book his spot in the semi-finals.
Jessica Pegula became the fourth American to reach this year's US Open semi-finals on Wednesday by stunning world number one Iga Swiatek as Jack Draper broke through to his first Grand Slam last-four. Pegula swept past 2022 champion and four-time French Open winner Swiatek 6-2, 6-4 to reach a maiden semi-final at the majors after falling in six quarter-finals. The 30-year-old will next face Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic.
