Manchester City remain the favourites to win the Premier League title this season, despite currently finding themselves in the midst of an underwhelming run of form.

Wednesday night's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park stretched the Blues' winless run in the Premier League to four matches, making it their longest run without a three-point haul in the Premier League since April 2017.

Leon Bailey scored the only goal of the game to end City's sequence of three successive draws, but not in a way that manager Pep Guardiola would have hoped for.

With Arsenal and Liverpool both recording midweek victories and capitalising on City's setback in the Midlands, the Blues are now fourth in the table, six points and four points behind their main title rivals respectively.
