After India's shock 3-2 loss to West Indies in the T20I series, former Pakistan capatain Salman Butt said that such a defeat will surely dent the confidence of the Hardik Pandya-led side.

Brandon King's superb unbeaten 85-run knock helped the Caribbean team to register an eight-wicket win over India in the series-deciding fifth T20I in Lauderhill, Florida on Sunday.

The Rovman Powell-led side won the first two matches before India bounced back to level the score. In the final game, Windies dominated India and registered a comfortable victory. "It doesn't matter what the format is or who the opposition is.

Winning does boost the side's confidence for their next assignment. (Similarly) a defeat surely dents confidence," Butt said in a show on his YouTube channel. "For any team, such a defeat surely dents confidence," he added.

Down 0-2 in the T20I series against West Indies, India started their comeback by beating the hosts in the 3rd T20I. The key to the Indian team's success was the fact that West Indies' hard-hitter Nicholas Pooran had failed to fire in the match. After the game, India skipper Hardik Pandya even issued a challenge to Pooran, saying he is hoping the Windies stalwart comes hard at him in the next game. Pooran has finally 'responded' to the challenge.
Team India miserably failed with both bat and ball during the fifth T20I against West Indies as the hosts clinched an eight-wicket win on Sunday. With this win, West Indies also claimed the five-match series with 3-2 scoreline. It was a disappointing day for the Indian side as West Indies chased down the target of 166 in just 18 overs. Up against West Indies in tour that consisted of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, the expectations from the subcontinent giants was that they would produce clean sweeps across formats. But, the reality was something else. The Test series resulted in a 1-0 win for India, with one drawn Test while the ODI assignment saw the team produce a 2-1 win. But, it was in the shortest format that the team was up for a shock. With Nicholas Pooran in prime form, West Indies stunned India 3-2, securing an unlikely series win that put the Indian team in the line of fire.
India batter Shubman Gill failed to end the West Indies T20I series on a high as he was dismissed on a score of nine in the fifth and final match in Lauderhill on Sunday. Less than 24 hours ago, Gill returned to form with a brilliant 77 in the fourth T20I at the same venue. It seemed that Gill would end the series on a high after failing to score runs in the first three matches. However, he was dismissed LBW by Akeal Hosein, who had also dismissed his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in the first over of the match.
Yashasvi Jaiswal hammered an explosive 84 not out of 51 balls as India thrashed West Indies by nine wickets in the fourth T20I in Lauderhill on Saturday. Jaiswal pummelled West Indies all across the park, hitting 11 fours and three sixes during his stay in the middle, and helped the visitors level the five-match series ahead of the decider later today. The 21-year-old not only won the Player of the Match, but also broke a huge record held by India captain Rohit Sharma.
