Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) did the unthinkable, securing their sixth win on the trot to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs.

RCB's match against Chennai was a virtual knockout contest, with the winner of the contest (by a certain margin) through to the next round.

It was RCB who rode on emphatic performances from skipper Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green to book their spot in the next round while CSK missed out on the playoffs in Ruturaj Gaikwad's first season as the skipper.

Seeing the Bengaluru franchise confirm its top 4 spot in epic fashion, RCB fans thronged the streets back home and blocked roads as they celebrated their team's heroic victory.

Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals will face a big test of character as they look to arrest their slide in a do-or-die Indian Premier League (IPL) Eliminator against an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru, on Wednesday. The Royals, at one stage, had looked set for a top-place finish in the league stage before a string of four defeats and a washout in the last game against KKR resulted in Sanju Samson's side finishing third behind Sunrisers Hyderabad.

After RCB beat Chennai Super Kings to confirm their progression, Patil lauded the team, asserting that sometimes, even 1 percent chance is enough.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) skipper Faf Du Plessis expressed happiness at his team's fightback to secure the final playoff spot in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) with a win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday, saying that the franchise's turnaround in the tournament was "fun." RCB completed a remarkable turnaround from a horrid first half of the IPL 2024, which saw them win just one in eight games, to securing six successive games to reach the playoffs. RCB finished the league stage at fourth spot with seven wins, seven losses and a total of 14 points, securing a higher net-run-rate than CSK, Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who also had 14 points. RCB skipper took to Instagram and wrote, "How fun was that... so proud of everyone the way they have made the impossible happen. Special night. Special group. Look forward to the next one."
The stage is set for the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs with all four spots now confirmed. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were the first team to qualify for the playoffs, followed by the early pace-setters Rajasthan Royals, who are going through a bit of slump. SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) also booked their spot in the playoffs earlier this week after being one point for their washed out game against the Gujarat Titans. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dramatically clinch the fourth and final spot on Saturday, putting defending champions Chennai Super Kings out of contention.
Star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli achieved a new record in the Indian Premier League (IPL), becoming the first Indian player to have two seasons with 700-plus runs.
