Proteas set for white-ball tour of India before T20 World Cup

The Proteas will tour India in September and October playing three T20 matches, which will serve as vital preparation for the T20 World Cup in Australia later in October, as well as three one-day internationals.

A significant highlight of the tour will be the second T20 match to be played on 2 October, celebrating Mahatma Gandhi's birthday.

It will be the Proteas' second white-ball tour to India in 2022.In June, the two sides shared a five-match T20 series 2-all after the final match was rained out.

It's also the first time that the Proteas will play 50-over cricket in the country since 2019, with the ODI series forming part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, which determines direct entry to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
