Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has made his thoughts clear on what he expects to happen between quarterbacks Mitch Trubiksy and Kenny Pickett. The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to 1-2 last night following a loss on the road to the Cleveland Browns, in a game in which once again they struggled to really put on a show when it came to the offensive side of the ball under the stewardship of quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Trubisky is being seen as the ‘safe’ option for the Steelers’ offense this year as they look to transition away from franchise quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who retired this past offseason, rather than going with their rookie quarterback and 2022 1st round draft pick Kenny Pickett.
However, whilst Trubisky might be seen as safe, only throwing one interception so far this season, the one thing that he certainly hasn’t been is explosive, as he currently ranks 32nd out of 33 eligible quarterbacks in the NFL when it comes to yards per attempt at 5.5.
That trend continued against the Browns last night as he threw for just 207 yards, and didn’t throw a single touchdown as the Steelers fell 17-29 against their AFC North rivals.
