Oliver Abildgaard insists he’s pitched up at Parkhead at the perfect time as he looks to beef up the Celtic midfield for the Champions League.
The 6ft 4ins Danish powerhouse landed in Glasgow in a late deadline day loan deal from Ruban Kazan. The 26-year-old will hook up with former Kazan teammates Sead Haksabanovic and Carl Starfelt and became Ange Postecoglou ’s ninth and final signing of the summer.
Abildgaard admitted he’s arrived at an exciting time for the Scottish champions – with Rangers up in the Premiership on Saturday before next week’s Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.
He said: “At all times it would be perfect to come here but, of course, with these big games coming up, I’m really looking forward to feeling the atmosphere, not only in the stadium but also in the city.
