Newcastle United are still locked in talks with Watford to try to prise Joao Pedro to St James' Park. Chronicle Live understands that the striker is keen on the move and Newcastle are hopeful that the purchase can be completed.

But the Hornets are not satisfied with the overall package of the deal as things stand. Yet Newcastle started the day with confidence that the move can be pushed through and the structure of the financial package - thought to be worth more than £25million - could be ironed out.

United have now made three suggestions on a price for Pedro. Pedro is believed to be open to the move and the opportunity to work with Brazilian stars Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes.

Speaking about Pedro his current boss Rob Edwards said over the weekend: “Joao is a very talented player, and when you marry talent with hard work you’ve got potential to be very special, and he has that potential in him." Watford chiefs had initially stated they would resist offers from Newcastle but are now believed to be ready to sell providing the package is right for them.
