Ben Whiteman believes Manchester United loanee Alvaro Fernandez will be a success at Preston North End this season as be believes Spurs youngster Troy Parrott is only missing a goal from his spell at the club so far.

North End were in action yesterday against Hull City as Emil Riis tested Matt Ingram with an early low drive on his left foot, after strike partner Parrott had made a clever run in behind and was spotted by Robbie Brady.

North End never looked in any trouble at the other end but lacked any real flow and creativity in the final third, and went in at the break with the score goalless.

In the second half, PNE came out and upped the tempo. Chances started to come - the big one falling to Parrott who was denied one-v-one - but the Lilywhites were unable to find a way through and had to make do with another goalless draw following the opening day point versus Wigan Athletic.
