Erik ten Hag handed starts to Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez in Manchester United's 4-1 friendly win over Wrexham on Wednesday afternoon.
United faced the National League side in a behind-closed-doors friendly match as the two teams looked to build their fitness levels ahead of their respective new campaigns.
Wrexham had originally believed they would be facing a team comprising of United youngsters, but were told Ten Hag wanted to use the occasion as an opportunity to give minutes to senior players lacking match sharpness. Ethan Laird also started. Fellow summer signing Eriksen scored a free-kick on his first unofficial outing for the club, and youngster James Garner played the entirety of the match, with Zidane Iqbal also getting a lengthy runout.
