Luis Rubiales vows to 'prove the truth' as court probes kiss on Jenni Hermoso

Spain's suspended football federation president Luis Rubiales has said he will continue to defend himself "to prove the truth", after the country's top sports court opened an investigation into his kiss on player Jenni Hermoso at the World Cup final."I want to send a message to all the good people in our country and beyond our borders, including those women who have really been attacked and who have my full support and understanding: this is not about gender, it is about truth," Rubiales said in a statement published by the newspaper El Mundo.Rubiales has been provisionally suspended by FIFA for an initial period of 90 days, pending an investigation into him kissing Spain midfielder Hermoso on the lips during the trophy and medals presentation to the Spanish team.Hermoso has said she did not consent to the kiss, and along with her 22 squad mates, has said she will not play for the national team until Rubiales resigns.
