Manchester City and Manchester United will be eagerly awaiting the Champions League group stage draw, later this week. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to defend their European crown after winning the premier club competition for the first time last season.
City will hope they can replicate their victory over Inter Milan in the final which sealed a historic treble for the club. Erik ten Hag will be leading United into the Champions league for the first time since his arrival, having finished third in the Premier League in his debut season.
The three-time winners will hope Ten Hag can go a couple steps further than the semi-final he reached as Ajax boss, back in 2019.
Having qualified as both Premier League and Champions League victors, City are in pot one for the group stage. United have been placed in pot two.
