Jota could be set for a reunion with old Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou at Spurs. Former Hoops favourite Jota’s Saudi Arabian misadventure has put a number of English top-flight clubs on alert – including Postecoglou’s Tottenham.
Portuguese winger Jota left Parkhead in the summer in a £25million move to the Middle East but the move has turned sour with his game time at Al-Ittihad limited so far.
But Postecoglou, who took him to Celtic from Benfica for £6m, could hand him an escape route. The long-term injury Ivan Perisic has suffered means Spurs are looking at options out wide.
Skipper Heung-min Son is being used between his more traditional role on the wing and more centrally by Postecoglou this season.
