Jon Rahm is advanced talks to join LIV Golf with the Spaniard considering move to the Saudi-backed series, according to a report.
And it is claimed the only hold up is over the format of the league rather than financial. The 29-year-old has consistently been linked with joining golf’s rebels and now Flushing It Golf say the Masters champion and Ryder Cup hero is in discussions over a switch from the PGA Tour.
They say: “Jon Rahm is in late stage talks to join LIV Golf and it’s believed the hold up is not financial, but is due to him wishing to modify the format of the league.
Any changes would need the approval of all team captains as well as the league themselves. This is making negotiations difficult, but they are intensifying.” The report doesn’t specify the changes but Rahm has spoken in the past about the format when quizzed on LIV Golf.
