Until now, Ten Hag had been adamant that Ronaldo was not for sale and the club have backed the Dutchman’s stance. However, Ronaldo’s mood since returning to the club just over a fortnight ago has been sour and Ten Hag feels he’s been a disruption to his plans.
The Dutchman is now open to selling Ronaldo, even if it means going without a replacement for the remainder of the season. That would be a major gamble given Anthony Martial’s struggles in front of goal but Ten Hag feels the spirit of the group could dramatically improve without Ronaldo.
