Jeremy Doku is expected to sign for Manchester City in time to be included for their trip to Sheffield United. City have agreed a £55.5m fee for 21-year-old winger Doku, who will have a medical on Wednesday ahead of completing his move to the club.

As long as all goes to plan, Doku will sign this week in time for the Premier League registration deadline to enable him to feature on Sunday.

Doku will become City's third major signing of the summer, after Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol. It is expected that the winger will add a fresh option on the wings for the Blues following the departure of Riyad Mahrez.

Pep Guardiola was asked about the small numbers in his squad ahead of their Premier League game with Newcastle, and spoke afterwards about needing everyone available.
