Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the popular US sitcom Friends, has shared that she was texting Matthew Perry on the day he passed away.

She told Variety: "He was happy. He was healthy. He had quit smoking," and "He was happy - that's all I know. I was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty.

He was not in pain. He wasn't struggling. He was happy." Aniston also mentioned how hard Perry worked to get healthy and how much he made everyone laugh.

She expressed her hope that Perry knew how loved he was and praised his unique way of speaking. Reese Witherspoon, who guest-starred on Friends as Aniston's on-screen sister Jill Green, said the cast of Friends "were so close".
