Life in the limelight as a politician hasn't been easy for Maria in Coronation Street. Councillor Maria, played by Samia Longchambon, has been targeted over her changes to the Weatherfield refuse collections and it seems that she now has a stalker.
Maria has been hit by a deep-fake video made to humiliate her, in which her face was added to the body of an unknown naked woman.
Next week on Coronation Street Maria is nervous about going to a lunch meeting on her own so Kelly offers to accompany her. Maria is shaken when refuse leader Jimmy approaches her and warns her to keep her nose out of matters she doesn’t understand.
But things go from bad to worse when a creepy guy approaches and tells her how much he enjoyed her online video.
