Reece Topley returned the best figures by an England bowler in a one-day international when the left-arm quick took 6-24 against India at Lord's on Thursday.

The 28-year-old's haul surpassed retired all-rounder Paul Collingwood's 6-31 against Bangladesh at Trent Bridge in 2005 and was only the fourth instance of an England bowler taking six wickets at this level, with all-rounder Chris Woakes having performed the feat on two occasions.

Topley's return was also the best by any bowler in an ODI at Lord's, beating Pakistan paceman Shaheen Shah Afridi's 6-35 against Bangladesh in a World Cup match three years ago. Rishabh Pant was at his very best on Sunday as the player helped India beat England by five wickets in the ODI-series decider. Pant scored an unbeaten 125 off 113 balls to help India chase down 260 runs from a precarious state of 72 for 4. Pant not only played the role of the protagonist with bat but also helped the team in his role of wicketkeeper. While he took the catches of Jason Roy and Moeen Ali behind the stumps, the player also helped Yuzvendra Chahal get a wicket with his input.
Virat Kohli string of low scored continued in the third and deciding ODI against England in Manchester on Sunday as he was dismissed by pacer Reece Topley. Kohli started off well with some exquisite boundaries after India had lost Shikhar Dhawan in the third over chasing a 260-run target. However, in the ninth over bowled by Topley, Kohli again outside edged one to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler off a full delivery that fell on the middle and angled away. It marked the end of Kohli's innings.
