After winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, the Indian Hockey Team received a warm welcome at the Delhi Airport on Tuesday.

People gathered in huge numbers at the Delhi Airport to get a glimpse of the bronze medalists in the Paris Olympics. Fans welcomed the Indian hockey players with the tunes of dhols.

Earlier on Saturday, the first set of the Indian men's hockey team arrived at the New Delhi Airport. The rest of the players who stayed for the closing ceremony of the Summer Games 2024 arrived on Tuesday.

PR Sreejesh, Abhishek Nain, Amit Rohidas, and Sanjay were among the players who touched down at the national capital today. One of the team members Sumit Valmiki said, "It feels great.

India's campaign at the Paris Olympics 2024 ended with six medals, a tally one short of the record total from Tokyo 2020. It is, however, India's third-best outing at the Summer Games after Tokyo 2020 and London 2012. Archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, wrestling, table tennis and tennis are the 16 sports Indian athletes took part in at the marquee event. Athletics boasted the largest Indian representation with a 29-member squad. In shooting, India fielded their largest-ever contingent of 21 shooters.
Following his team's bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics, Indian men's hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh, who played brilliantly throughout the entire Olympics, celebrated the victory and posted a picture with the medal on Instagram. Taking to Instagram, Harmanpreet posted a picture of him kissing his medal, captioned, "Hello India this is for you." The Harmanpreet Singh-led side secured a historic bronze medal, defeating Spain 2-1, marking their second consecutive Olympic medal, an achievement last accomplished 52 years ago.
