Hibs have urged fans to name and shame the Dundee United supporter who allegedly dished out racist abuse to Jair Tavares during their side’s defeat at Tannadice on Tuesday night.

Footage emerged which appears to show the Portuguese star being called a "black b******” and the Easter Road club have been in touch with their Scottish Premiership rivals over the incident, which was highlighted by former Hibee Marvin Bartley on social media.

Hibs have released a statement following the 1-0 defeat, saying: “Hibernian FC are aware of an incident in our cinch Premiership match with Dundee United, involving a racist comment directed towards one of our players. “The incident took place in the latter stages of the second half as the player went to retrieve the ball that had gone out of play.

Hibernian FC have made contact with Dundee United regarding this and would strongly support any investigation into this matter.
