Former Australia captain Michael Clarke was all praise for India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah post the bowler's terrific show against England in the second Test in Visakhapatnam.

Bumrah picked a total of nine wickets in the game while conceding 91 runs. After the stellar performance, the 30-year-old leapfrogged Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada and Ravichandran Ashwin to become only the fourth India bowler to attain number one position in the Test bowling rankings.

Meanwhile, Bumrah also became the first-ever Indian pacer to take the top spot in the list. While praising him, Clarke called Bumrah "a freak". "Bumrah, what can you say!

He is a freak. His skill in these conditions are never conducive to fast bowling, it's unbelievable. He is a freak," said ex-Australia captain Clarke on ESPNcricinfo.

The Indian cricket team sealed a memorable series win against England with a five-wicket victory in Ranchi in the fourth Test. Despite top stars like Jasprit Bumrah missing from action, the young guns under Rohit Sharma galvanised into a pack of powerful performers. Though England looked in control in phases of the game, India were able wrest control with youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel stepping up in the series. India's performance has put a question mark on England's Bazball strategy, as they have now lost the first series since the ultra-aggressive approach by coach Brendon McCullum.

Debutant speedster Akash Deep revealed that India's star pacer gave him advise to keep the length of his delivery "slightly back", which helped him to script a dream debut in the fourth Test against England. Akash ran riot in the opening session of Day 1 by removing England's top order to put India in a strong position early in the game. The 27-year-old's ability to pick the right line and length played a major role in dismissing England's star batting trio of Zak Crawley (42), Ben Duckett (11) and Ollie Pope (0). "Bumrah Bhai advised me to drag the length back slightly (in international cricket), that's exactly what I did," Akash said after the end of Day 1.
India batting coach Vikram Rathour on Thursday said the Ranchi wicket hosting the fourth Test against England has "enough cracks" and would favour the spinners but insisted they have enough firepower to cope with any condition. India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been the top-wickettaker of the series but he would be missing the fourth Test after being given a break to manage his workload. The move has led many to believe that India will go for a rank turner for the fourth Test beginning on Friday.
Former Australian cricket team skipper Michael Clarke blasted England batter Ben Duckett for his comments regarding India youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal. Following Jaiswal's double ton in India's win over England in the third Test encounter in Rajkot, Duckett commented that England's Bazball approach has encouraged other cricketers from other teams to play aggressive brand of cricket. Clarke was not pleased with the comment and during a discussion on ESPN Australia's Around The Wicket, he recalled the likes of Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting to point out that the aggressive style of batting pre-dates Bazball.
