Gabriel Jesus has certainly enjoyed himself during Arsenal’s 2022/23 pre-season campaign thus far. The £45 million signing from Manchester City bagged a brace in his first outing against FC Nuremberg, before finding the back of the net again in a comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton.
And against Orlando City in the early hours of Thursday morning UK time, Jesus gave another good account of himself. The Brazil international was introduced by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta after the half-time interval and was heavily involved in proceedings from the get-go.
Jesus didn’t find the back of the net for the third game in succession, but was a constant threat as part of a strike partnership with Eddie Nketiah.
Just a few minutes after entering the fray in Orlando, the 25-year-old proved what a significant upgrade he is on Alexandre Lacazette.
