Erik ten Hag has stated Manchester United took allegations against Antony 'very seriously' upon his potential return to action.
Antony last played for United in the defeat against Arsenal on September 3. A leave of absence for the winger was then agreed upon following allegations of abuse from three women, which he denied.
It was announced on Friday morning that Antony's period of absence had ended and the player returned to training at Carrington on Saturday, which has seen him make the bench for Tuesday's game against Galatasaray. "Our minds were with him and also the allegations, you think about it, it's serious and we took them very seriously," Ten Hag said. "He had a leave of absence to deal with this and he was fully co-operative with the police in Brazil and Manchester." Ten Hag also discussed his team selection and he said he thought his starting line-up was a good tactical fit for the game. "We have to manage the squad," he added. "You want to have the best team and from a tactical approach, I think it fits very good today.
I thought on Saturday, we did a lot very good but in the box, we were very poor. "The movement, decision making on the ball [was poor], so we don't create many chances and we have to do much better.
