Harry Maguire is absent from Manchester United's squad to play Tottenham on Saturday due to a small injury issue. United accepted a £30million bid from West Ham for Maguire earlier this month, but the move has stalled and a source has now described the deal as unlikely because the centre-back was unable to agree personal terms.
Maguire made just eight league starts last season and he's currently regarded as the fourth-choice centre-back at Old Trafford. ALSO READ: Manchester United welcome back former goalkeeper on trial The 30-year-old, who was stripped of the captaincy this summer, was an unused substitute against Wolves on the opening day of the season as Erik ten Hag replaced Lisandro Martinez with Victor Lindelof at half-time.
United defeated Wolves 1-0 in that game and the performance was underwhelming, however, Ten Hag has challenged those players to put it right against Tottenham by naming an unchanged starting line-up in North London.
He spoke to MUTV ahead of Spurs and said: "We have to do better. We didn't perform well on Monday and I know they can do better, but nonetheless, they won the game.
