David de Gea paid tribute to his late grandmother after Manchester United's 1-0 Premier League win over Leicester City on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag's side secured a 1-0 victory over the Foxes thanks to Jadon Sancho's first-half goal. The win was United's third in succession and sees them move up to fifth in the Premier League table, despite having lost their opening two games.

It was another solid defensive performance from United, with De Gea producing an impressive save to deny James Maddison's free kick in the second period. "This save and the victory is for you grandma," wrote De Gea on Instagram and Twitter. "Keep watching me flying wherever you are." A number of United's players sent supportive messages to the 31-year-old, with current teammates Alejandro Garnacho, Raphael Varane and Casemiro, as well as former player Juan Mata, all paying their respects on Instagram.
