Dan James will captain Leeds United’s under-21s this evening as the Whites take on their Derby County counterparts at Pride Park.

The Wales international is suspended from first-team this weekend following his red card against Chelsea in May and will use tonight to pick up some valuable minutes ahead of the trip to Southampton next weekend.

Darko Gyabi is involved against the Rams, too, as he makes his first competitive appearance in a Leeds shirt. Sonny Perkins makes his first appearance since his move from West Ham United and looks set to lead the line.

Archie Gray, who caught the eye of many on the club’s pre-season tour of Australia, also starts with Michael Skubala’s Whites look to get their season off to a fast start.
