Dak Prescott could be getting a sense of deja vu when it comes to his place in the Dallas Cowboys team following the performances of Cooper Rush, Colin Cowherd has claimed. Dak Prescott more or less stumbled into the role within the Dallas Cowboys organisation back in 2016, and it’s fair to say that he has taken on the role of starting quarterback with both hands and hasn’t really looked back as he has managed to establish himself as their franchise quarterback.
A 4th round pick in 2016, he was meant to serve as a backup for veteran Tony Romo as he led the Cowboys in the final years of his career, however when Romo suffered an injury during their 3rd preseason game, Prescott was thrust into the starting role where he pretty much took the league by storm in his rookie year.
In his rookie season, he led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the #1 seed in the NFC off the back of an 11-game winning run that saw him throw for 3,667 passing yards and 23 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions which helped him earn NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
And if this is all starting to sound familiar to you, that’s because it kind of is. Dak Prescott’s shoe is now on the other foot Because now it is Prescott who is on the outside looking in when it comes to his time as the Cowboy’s starting quarterback.
