Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to a viral post suggesting his car was spotted at Sporting Lisbon's stadium amid rumours he could be set to rejoin his former club.

Ronaldo had asked to be allowed to leave Manchester United should the club receive a satisfactory offer this summer. Ronaldo’s future has been the subject of much speculation since he returned to United last year.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was linked with a move to Bayern Munich earlier in the window, although the German club went on to deny the rumours.

Meanwhile, United have insisted that Ronaldo is not for sale.
