Craig Gordon has opened talks with Hearts over a new deal aimed at ensuring he ends his playing days at Tynecastle. The Gorgie legend has returned from the horrific double leg break he suffered on Christmas Eve last year to take his place on the bench for the Jambos' last two Premiership games against Aberdeen and Rangers.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper is driven in his bid to return to action by the prospect of forcing his way back into the Scotland squad ahead of next summer’s Euros.
And Hearts boss Steven Naismith has now confirmed talks are underway with the club captain to extend his deal which is due to expire in June.
Naismith said: “He is one we have spoken to about going forward. The intention is definitely that Craigy is at the club for the rest of his career, however long that may be.
