Former India captain and ex-head coach Ravi Shastri sent out a funny warning to England while reacting to Ravichandran Ashwin's new hairstyle during the BCCI Awards ceremony in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

The cricketer-turned-commentator was honoured with the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the event. While using words from Ashwin's speech that the player gave during the ceremony, Shastri pointed out at the spinner's new hairstyle.

He funnily warned England about the threat that Ashwin could pose for them during his bowling. "Ashwin just mentioned, 'I am going to get up do better'.

Now that he has had this haircut and his brains are free, with the air going through, can you imagine what all he is thinking?

The Saurashtra Cricket Association also has plans to felicitate two superstars of the Indian Test team -- Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja -- at the venue. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri always knew that Jasprit Bumrah was "desperate and hungry" to play Test cricket as the pace sensation didn't ever liked being stereotyped as a "white-ball specialist". Bumrah is the first Indian pacer to be ranked No. 1 in the ICC Test rankings. The 30-year-old's pace prowess was on full display as he claimed a remarkable match haul of 9/91, playing a pivotal role in India's series-levelling victory in the Vizag Test. In the process, he also became the fastest Indian to 150 Test wickets.
Indian spin veteran Ravichandran Ashwin hailed speedster Jasprit Bumrah for his performance during the second Test against England, saying that the real "show stealer" in the match was "Boomball". England had taken a 1-0 lead by beating India by 28 runs in the first Test at Hyderabad, but Bumrah's 'Boomball', his pin-point yorkers and his ability to put batters under pressure put England's highly-attacking, positive and result-oriented "Bazball" approach in check during the second Test at Visakhapatnam, which India won by 106 runs. Bumrah was given the 'Player of the Match' award for taking nine wickets, including a six-wicket haul in the first innings. After the match, Bumrah soon toppled Ashwin to become the world's number-one Test bowler.
Indian spin veteran Ravichandran Ashwin hailed compatriot and U19 captain Uday Saharan for his composure during the ICC U19 World Cup ahead of the title clash against Australia taking place on Sunday. India is taking on Australia in the title clash of the U19 World Cup in Benoni. This is India's fifth successive U19 World Cup final appearance and their third against the Aussies. Australia has never defeated India in a U19 World Cup final. If India manages to topple Australia, they will win the title for the sixth time, while Australia will win it for the fourth time.
Former India opener Aakash Chopra lashed out at off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin for not being creative enough on the batting-friendly pitches as he has produced disappointing performances in the first two Tests against England. Ashwin has picked nine wickets in two Tests at an average of 36.33. He has not managed to get a four-wicket or a five-wicket haul in the series so far. He has been outperformed as a spinner by England's Tom Hartley, who has 14 wickets at an average of 24.57, including a seven-wicket haul in the first test.
Veteran Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik was not pleased with Rohit Sharma's 'defensive' approach on Day 4 of the first Test match against England on Sunday. Resuming at 316/6, Ollie Pope ended up scoring 196 as India were given a target of 231. Karthik said that India were very defensive in their approach from the start of the day and although it was understandable to be conservative in their tactics against Pope, he pointed out that against tail-enders like Tom Hartley, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja should have had attacking fielders to create pressure.
