Outcast Gustaf Lagerbielke has reportedly knocked back the chance to leave Celtic in a loan switch to Malmo. The Swedish defender was part of the Hoops squad that returned from their American tour but has not made a matchday squad since the start of the Scottish Premiership season.
Lagerbielke – who was a £3million capture from Elfsborg 12 months ago – came close to leaving for Lecce on loan last January and Brendan Rodgers has openly stated that the centre-back could be on the move this summer.
But the player has reportedly turned down the chance to join the Swedish side ahead of their massive Champions League qualifying clash with PAOK as he didn't want to return to his home league.
But Expressen reports that several clubs in the English Championship want to take Lagerbielke on a temporary deal from the Scottish Premiership champions this summer - but a firm path away from Parkhead has yet to be mapped out.
