Team India scripted a thrilling win over arch-rivals in their Asia Cup clash on Sunday at Dubai International Stadium. It was Hardik Pandya's all-round performance which took Team India to victory in the nail-biting thriller.

The all-rounder first helped India to bundle out Pakistan at 147 by scalping three wickets and later smashed 33 runs off 17 balls, including the winning six, to give his side a five-wicket win.

Appreciating his performance, former India head coach Ravi Shastri took to Twitter and called him the "best T20 all-rounder." "Needed the best T20 all-rounder in the business to power India across the finish line -@hardikpandya7," tweeted Ravi Shastri.

The Indian cricket squad for the T20 Word Cup has already been announced. Hardik Pandya holds a special place in the 15-member squad as he is the top all-rounder in the side. Pandya has shown maturity with the bat and has been bowling fast too. Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri, in his own inimitable style, reiterated once again that Pandya is the no. 1 allrounder in the T20I format. "I have already tweeted and posted on Instagram that he is the No. 1 all-rounder in this format of the game. What else do you need? I had said it two weeks back. What else is there to add or subtract? XYZ can say whatever they want... everyone is entitled to his opinion. My view is clear, which is what I tweeted a couple of weeks ago," Shastri told Sports Tak.
Former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri ended a rather successful coaching stint with the Indian men's cricket team last year after the 2021 T20 World Cup. Shastri, who built a good partnership with then captain Virat Kohli, oversaw two memorable Test series wins Down Under - the only two times  that India have won a series against Australia in Australia in the longest format. He also coached them to a 2-1 Test series lead in England, although the series ended in a draw after the 5th Test - rescheduled to be played after Shastri's tenure came to an end - saw England pull off a historic chase.
Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has said that the introduction of super-sub rule can prove to be a "gamechanger" for the shortest format of the game. In a first of its kind, Legends League Cricket (LLC) introduced a super-sub rule as the tournament kicked off with a special benefit match between India Maharajas and Team World Giants at the Eden Gardens on Friday.  The unique rule states that one "super substitute" will be available for each team which they can use after the completion of 10 overs in any inning of the match.
The unique rule states that one "super substitute" will be available for each team which they can use after the completion of 10 overs in any inning of the match. However, the teams have to announce the name of these "super sub" players before the start of the game. Legends League Cricket Match Commissioner Ravi Shastri feels that the introduction of this rule could be a game changer.
For Virat Kohli, his ton against Afghanistan in an Asia Cup Super 4 match was relieving to say the least. After over 1000 days, Kohli scored a ton in international cricket. His 122* off 61 balls against Afghanistan was also the highest-ever individual score in T20I cricket by an Indian. With the T20 World Cup starting in less than two months' time, the timing could not have been better for Kohli to roar back to form. After the ton on Thursday, former India coach Ravi Shastri was asked about Kohli reaching the triple-figure mark after 1020 days, and he gave his insight on it.
Virat Kohli, and million of Indian cricket fans, must be relieved now. For, after over 1000 days, the former Indian cricket team captain has finally reached the triple figure mark. Kohli's 71st international ton came against Afghanistan in India's last Super 4 game at the Asia Cup. While the century came after India were already out of the final contention, it still augurs well for the team looking ahead at the T20 World Cup. Indian Premier league franchise Chennai Super Kings also paid a special tribute to Kohli after his 122* off 61 balls against Afghanistan with a twitter thread.
