Anthony Martial and Erik ten Hag collide in Manchester United moments missed vs Newcastle United

Manchester United's encouraging run of Premier League form came to a disappointing end on Saturday night as they lost 1-0 at Newcastle United.

Anthony Gordon was the eventual match-winner, tapping in from close-range on 55 minutes after Kieran Trippier's dangerous cross.

Newcastle could have been ahead well before then and were well-deserving of the three points, despite an attempt at a late flurry from United.

The introduction of Rasmus Hojlund and Antony - in place of the ineffective Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford - injected some energy into United's play and the latter saw a goal disallowed after the ball was adjudged to have deflected off Harry Maguire, who was offside.
