Adam Owen has racked up enough air miles in his coaching career to circumnavigate the globe. And probably twice. So it’s little surprise that, after landing at Hibs this season, the Welshman has designs on more overseas jaunts as he bids to help Lee Johnson get the Easter Road club back flying towards the Euro spots.
Assistant boss Owen has a CV that boasts seven countries, 10 different clubs and the Wales national team since taking up his first position as fitness coach at Celtic in 2003.
That includes a spell as Rangers performance director, assistant roles with the Wales, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Servette in Switzerland, a year as boss at Lechia Gdansk in Poland, assistant at Hebei China Fortune and technical advisor titles at both Seattle Sounders in the MLS and Lech Poznan.
Coaching superstars such as Javier Mascherano and Ezequiel Lavezzi in China as well as uncovering future gems in Switzerland like Denis Zakaria, who has just joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus, were highlights.
