Open Thursday night. Gregory Schwedock, 35, of New York City, and 50-year-old Shayok Mukhopadhyay, of White Plains, New York, were arrested for the protest.

Mukhopadhyay was also charged with disorderly conduct. Mukhopadhyay glued his feet to the ground at Arthur Ashe Stadium, contributing to a 49-minute match delay. NEW YORK : The U.S. Open stepped up security for the men's semi-finals on Friday after environmental activists disrupted a women's match a day earlier, halting play for nearly an hour.
NEW YORK — The US Open semifinal between Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova was delayed by 49 minutes because of a disruption by four environmental activists in the Arthur Ashe Stadium stands Thursday night. One protester glued his bare feet to the concrete floor.
Coco Gauff maintained her composure following a nearly hour-long disruption caused by climate activists as the American teenager sailed into the US Open final with a straight-sets win over Karolina Muchova.
