All eyes will be on Virat Kohli when Indian cricket team gets down to action against Bangladesh in a Test series, starting September 19.

Kohli has already retired from T20Is and it means that fans will get to see the 35-year-old star in only two formats - Tests and ODIs.

Comparisons have often been drawn between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, though the former has always maintained that the latter is unmatchable.

Kohli has 80 international tons and is second to Tendulkar (100) in terms of number of centuries. While surpassing that feat may take some time, Kohli can surpass Tendulkar for a world record in international cricket in the Bangladesh Test series.

England cricket team batter Harry Brook shattered Virat Kohli's record to achieve a sensational feat during the fifth ODI encounter against Australia on Sunday. Brook, who was appointed captain for the ODI series in the absence of the injured Jos Buttler, has been enjoying a brilliant run of form. The youngster slammed his maiden century in the third ODI to guide his team to victory and he followed it up with a gritty half-century. On Sunday, he slammed 72 off just 57 deliveries to take his tally of runs in the series to 312. That is now the highest runs scored by a captain in a bilateral series against Australia as Brook broke the record that Kohli achieved back in 2019. Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli had a horrible outing during the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai. Virat registered scores of 6 and 17 as Hasan Mahmud dismissed him in the first innings and Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz took his wicket in the second innings. All eyes are on the batter to bounce back in the second Test in Kanpur but he suffered a major setback at the nets ahead of the game. According to Indian Express, he faced 15 deliveries against fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the nets and he was 'out' four times. The fourth ball from Bumrah crashed into his pads and Bumrah shouted “saamne laga hai (You are plumb)” - a statement that Kohli acknowledged.
Team India did win the first Test against Bangladesh by Chepauk comfortably, securing a 280-run triumph, but the result doesn't hide away issues that still remain. Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja were among the top performers in the series opener but the performance of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma left much to desire. Neither Virat nor Rohit succeeded in registering a big score in the two innings, prompting suggestions that they shouldn't have missed the Duleep Trophy.
Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli bowed to Ravichandran Ashwin after the spinner completes his five-wicket haul during Day 4 of the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai on Sunday.
