Kaizer Chiefs boost technical team with arrival of Cedric Kaze as assistant coach

Cedric Kaze is the new assistant coach of Kaizer Chiefs, the club announced in a media statement on Thursday.

He replaces Frenchman Fernando Da Cruz, who joined the Moroccan Football Association last month.

Kaze is no stranger to Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi, having worked with him at Young Africans, where they achieved significant success over two seasons, winning six trophies.

Hailing from Burundi, Kaze has also worked with the country's national teams at the U17, U20, and U23 levels and spent time as the assistant coach to the national side.

Kaze has also coached youth football in Canada and was part of the Barcelona Academy for two-and-a-half years, among many other coaching positions he has held.

Speaking of the appointment, Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr. said Nabi and Kaze would form a formidable team.

"Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career. His familiarity with coach Nabi's methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch," said Motaung Jr.
